Our schedule as a college student was quite full but we won't forget our responsibility to do this mission well. We saw the kids are preparing for an upcoming event in one of the malls in Tangerang. They practice cheerfully and enthusiastically on their dancing, which we're so excited to watch, but too bad we miss the morning session due to our class schedule. As a sign of apology and to make the kids more in the mood, we give the kiddies chocolate biscuits, and also not forgetting to take picture together with them before saying goodbye.

If we just could come earlier, we could help more on the preparation,sorry about that, so good luck on your performance kiddies of PAUD Islam Bunda!!! We will always support you guys!!! Don't forget us... OK? hahaha

Without this experience, i won't have been able to learn more about teaching, managing the children emotions and habits, and also to learn more about sharing and giving. I'm still not perfect on that aspect so i'll always improve myself more and more... The lesson that could be learnt based on the Pancasila is the value of fairness in the 5th sila. We have to be fair to whoever the student we teach just like the teachers who treat all the students in the same way, despite they're normal, hyperactive or even having autism. By doing that, everyone will feel more respected and appreciated.

Time passed by so fast, we're already on our last meeting which meant that we're really close to our accomplishment. 

As usual, class starts at 8 A.M which right after we pray together lead by one of the kids, playing a simple game which today is the gamed called "Dragon Snake" then followed by recess time.

After break time, we exercise a bit by doing chicken dance. Moving on, we first taught the kids about "Honesty in Trading" in English which is to know the honesty in selling,buying, merchandising etc and also to learn about spelling the words. We ask some kids to write sell, buyer, seller, merchandise, and honest on the whiteboard. Then, we start teaching our main topic which is Healthy Habit:Brushing Teeth. We played a short video to watch with the kids which is about the negative effects of not brushing your teeth in the morning or night such as: toothache, awful smell, and so on.

Our time then has come to an end, which meant we've accomplished our mission to teach them, i will surely miss them. We have prepared some presents beforehand for the teachers and the lovely kiddos to express our thanks and gratitude for them who have accepted and welcomed us really warmly. Then, my group leader, Stella, give the closing speech and we all apologized for any unwanted mistakes we have done conscious and unconsciously throughout our teaching sessions.Finally, we say goodbye to those lovely kiddies and kind-hearted teachers.

I felt that i've passed another memorable phase of my life to have taught in PAUD Islam Bunda. The lesson i've learnt throughout all this sessions, is that to be always thankful to God for what we are now and also respecting others. Based on the third sila of Pancasila which is to unite with all people despite of their races, cultures, and so on. Its true that our country comprise of many differences which maybe difficult to cope in for some people, but if we try, we could be a better person each and another day. These moments will sure be unforgettable for me. 

Thanks to Binus University and TFI to let us in doing this mission and also not forgetting to thanks all of my group members, without your cooperation we couldn't accomplish this mission properly.

We had our second meeting with the kids at 15 April 2015. So excited to meet those little cuties again!!!

Our day started by saying PAUD Islam Bunda Pledge, Praying,then playing some games, drinking water, playing in the grass field outside, and also singing songs together with full of enthusiasm and excitement.

New lesson detected!!!

For our new lesson we choose Human Body and 6 senses as our topic. Through songs, both English and Indonesian, we introduce human body parts such as: eyes, nose, lips, teeth, shoulder, knees, legs, and so on. To make them more interested in learning those stuffs, we played 2 different games. The first game is to touch their body parts as instructed by us, for example when we said to touch your shoulders, then the kids should touch them. The second game is to match the human body parts onto the right place with closed eyes. We had the drawing specially prepared for this game. By playing those games, we try to make the kids  understand more about their body parts in a fun way. As we proceed with those games, we found a winner for each game. The winner for the first game is Keke and for the second game is Arkan. Congratulations!!! We give them candies as a reward.

Our day ended at 11.30 A.M, This day was the last day for Kezia and Bennett to teach. Cheers for your effort guys!!!

Lesson learned today is that we should always be grateful to God for every aspect in our life. Just like the teachers who always remind the kids to pray before every activity such as learning time, meal time and and so on. At the first sila of PANCASILA (Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa), its said that we have to always appreciate and be thankful to God since He is the creator and we are owned by HIM.

So, we should keep in mind that without God we wouldn't have been here, therefore, we should always respect God.

Last Wednesday (1 April 2015), my group officially kicked off to teach in a PAUD (Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini). We choose to teach at PAUD Islam Bunda which is located in Sutera Flamboyan 7 no. 62 Alam Sutera.We're going to teach there for about 4 times, so now i'm going to share our first piece of memory there!

That morning, we all arrived there at about 7.30 a.m. By then, we start final discussion regarding the activities we are going to do with those kids to ensure that it's organized and go as we wish. After that, the kids show up one by one and greeted us and we welcomed them with full of smiles as they are so adorable!!!

At 8 a.m, teachers, children, and us gathered. Then, we all start with a morning prayer session which the teachers and the children did as usual, the prayer is lead by one of the kids in a muslim way. By then, we start introducing ourselves. My group leader, give the opening speech and lead the introduction. The teachers and the children also introduced themselves one by one.To get us closer, the teachers set up an opening game called "tok-tok ubi" which we are divided into 2 roles; farmers and sweet potatoes. The point of the game is for the farmers to search for sweet potatoes ready to be harvested while the sweet potatoes form a line and sing joyfully.The farmers harvest the sweet potatoes by pulling them or even tickling them which is so much fun, hahaha. 

We then took a rest before playing another game together. The second game we played is the game our group arranged beforehand to play with them. This game is related to the topic that we would teach them in the class later on. The game is called "Air dan Udara" or "Water and Air". The game is about air and water that each occupied a room,so we form a circle which consists of people who act as "Air", and inside the circle there are those people who act as "Water". So, when the air want to go inside the circle, one water should sacrifice and move out of the circle. The kids was enthusiastic to play this game s it's really exciting. 

After playing those two games, we are tired, so we took a rest for about 30 minutes. Then, we gathered in the classroom, and we prayed again and the teachers gave their speech. Next, we have our lunch at 9.30 a.m together. Afterwards, we play with the children and took photos.

At 10.45 a.m., we go into our each group of two among group members which we have divided beforehand. Each group taught different category (KB, TKA, TKB). I and Kezia taught KB (pre-school) kiddos, they are so cute!!! We perform science experiment regarding "Water and Air" using water bottle, water, and wash bowl and we explained it to them. After that teaching, we played again with them as you know pre-school kids are still really playful and don't really understand our words,

The time goes on really fast, until it's time to say goodbye. The teachers and children then do Sholat (Muslim pray) before ending the day and finally we said thank you and greet them to say goodbye.

From this activity, i've learnt the way of sharing, giving, and caring others. We shared the kids our knowledge, get to know them better, and took care of them. Besides, i also learnt about "Unity"and "Togetherness", no matter what age, religion etc. that we had, we should always share and care for each other. It has become a great experience for me.
