Last Wednesday (1 April 2015), my group officially kicked off to teach in a PAUD (Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini). We choose to teach at PAUD Islam Bunda which is located in Sutera Flamboyan 7 no. 62 Alam Sutera.We're going to teach there for about 4 times, so now i'm going to share our first piece of memory there!
That morning, we all arrived there at about 7.30 a.m. By then, we start final discussion regarding the activities we are going to do with those kids to ensure that it's organized and go as we wish. After that, the kids show up one by one and greeted us and we welcomed them with full of smiles as they are so adorable!!!
At 8 a.m, teachers, children, and us gathered. Then, we all start with a morning prayer session which the teachers and the children did as usual, the prayer is lead by one of the kids in a muslim way. By then, we start introducing ourselves. My group leader, give the opening speech and lead the introduction. The teachers and the children also introduced themselves one by one.To get us closer, the teachers set up an opening game called "tok-tok ubi" which we are divided into 2 roles; farmers and sweet potatoes. The point of the game is for the farmers to search for sweet potatoes ready to be harvested while the sweet potatoes form a line and sing joyfully.The farmers harvest the sweet potatoes by pulling them or even tickling them which is so much fun, hahaha.
We then took a rest before playing another game together. The second game we played is the game our group arranged beforehand to play with them. This game is related to the topic that we would teach them in the class later on. The game is called "Air dan Udara" or "Water and Air". The game is about air and water that each occupied a room,so we form a circle which consists of people who act as "Air", and inside the circle there are those people who act as "Water". So, when the air want to go inside the circle, one water should sacrifice and move out of the circle. The kids was enthusiastic to play this game s it's really exciting.
After playing those two games, we are tired, so we took a rest for about 30 minutes. Then, we gathered in the classroom, and we prayed again and the teachers gave their speech. Next, we have our lunch at 9.30 a.m together. Afterwards, we play with the children and took photos.

At 10.45 a.m., we go into our each group of two among group members which we have divided beforehand. Each group taught different category (KB, TKA, TKB). I and Kezia taught KB (pre-school) kiddos, they are so cute!!! We perform science experiment regarding "Water and Air" using water bottle, water, and wash bowl and we explained it to them. After that teaching, we played again with them as you know pre-school kids are still really playful and don't really understand our words,
The time goes on really fast, until it's time to say goodbye. The teachers and children then do Sholat (Muslim pray) before ending the day and finally we said thank you and greet them to say goodbye.

From this activity, i've learnt the way of sharing, giving, and caring others. We shared the kids our knowledge, get to know them better, and took care of them. Besides, i also learnt about "Unity"and "Togetherness", no matter what age, religion etc. that we had, we should always share and care for each other. It has become a great experience for me.
Can't wait to see those faces again in our next meeting!!!
